Longer Bio
Marie-Claude Bourque is a French-speaking Montreal native who holds a BS in Physics from McGill University, a graduate degree in Meteorology and a MS in Oceanography from Dalhousie University, a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the University of British Columbia, a Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington and multiple Canadian and American fitness certifications.
In 2009, she won the Romantic Times Book Review American Title award with her very first novel ANCIENT WHISPERS. She is an active member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America (SFWA) and the author of the BLACK OAK ORDER romantic fantasy series.
She worked as an ocean research scientist, a fitness trainer and scientific translator until she finally decided to settle as both a secondary science teacher and fantasy writer. After moving all over Canada, Europe and the United States, she is now happy to call Seattle her home, where she lives with her family and her sassy California fires rescue cat Lucy.
